A thief accidentally revealed his identity after stealing the phone of a man who was on a video call.
The incident occurred last Sunday (February 9) in Usaquén, a neighborhood in Bogotá, Colombia. The man was on a video call when his phone was ripped from his hand while walking down the street.
“He came on a motorcycle and stole my phone. I had my headphones on and I could tell I had been robbed. I rushed home as quickly as I could to block all the sensitive information I had on the device: my cards and everything else,” the victim explained.
However, according to footage shared on social media, the thief appeared to not know how to end the call. He accidentally filmed his face several times after the robbery, and the video went viral in Colombian media.
Many internet users recognized the man, who had already committed similar robberies in the area. But according to the newspaper Diario ADN, the suspect is still at large and has not yet been identified by the police.
